Cadillac Racing has announced a significant expansion of its FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Hypercar program, launching a two-car factory team named Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA for the 2025 season.

Sam Hignett, director and founder of Hertz Team JOTA, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Joining forces with Cadillac marks a major milestone for JOTA. We’ve always aspired to become a manufacturer team, and competing with the Cadillac V-Series.R is an honor. Having raced against Cadillac in the past, we know just how competitive their cars are, and we look forward to continuing our record-breaking success with them in the upcoming seasons.”

The No. 12 and No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R racecars will be powered by Cadillac’s 5.5L DOHC V8 engine, with driver lineups to be announced at a later date.

Hertz Team JOTA, based in England and partially owned by affiliates of Knighthead Capital Management, LLC, entered the Hypercar class as a privateer in 2023, backed by global car rental company Hertz and seven-time champion Tom Brady. The team made history with a privateer’s first overall victory in Hypercar at the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and currently leads the FIA World Cup for Hypercar private teams.

Cadillac Racing’s debut WEC season was highlighted by a third-place finish at the centenary 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the No. 2 Cadillac V-Series.R achieving strong performances throughout the season, including top-five finishes at Sebring, Portimão, and Spa-Francorchamps.

In addition to its WEC efforts, Cadillac Racing runs a two-car Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) factory program in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The team celebrated a successful 2023 season, sweeping the GTP full-season and IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup manufacturer, team, and driver championships with Action Express Racing and the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R.

Since 2017, Cadillac Racing has secured nine Manufacturer Championships, five IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup Manufacturer Championships, and 69 sports car victories, including 30 in IMSA prototype competition.

The Cadillac V-Series.R represents the third generation of Cadillac prototype racecars and is the brand’s first hybrid electrified racecar. Developed collaboratively by Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing, and chassis constructor Dallara, the V-Series.R integrates key Cadillac V-Series production car design elements, such as vertical lighting and floating blades.

Cadillac Racing will announce its 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship plans in the near future.
