Cadillac Racing celebrated a triumphant victory at the streets of Long Beach, capitalizing on their third pole start to secure the sprint race last month. Renger van der Zande and Sebastien Bourdais, piloting the No. 01 Cadillac V-Series.R, edged out their competitors by a mere 0.564 of a second, clinching Cadillac Racing’s sixth triumph at Long Beach and marking their 30th overall victory since joining IMSA’s prototype class in 2017.

This win holds special significance for Bourdais, who secured his fifth victory at Long Beach, teaming up with van der Zande, his partner from the 2022 win. Despite the stiff competition from the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R, which has consistently shown strong performance, the No. 01 Cadillac V-Series.R emerged victorious, demonstrating Cadillac Racing’s unwavering prowess.

In addition to their stellar performance in the race, Cadillac Racing hybrid racecars dominated the GTP field in practice sessions, further solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with on the track.

Mark Stielow, GM director of motorsports competition, commended the team’s exceptional achievement, highlighting the outstanding efforts of both the No. 01 Cadillac V-Series.R and the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R. Their remarkable performance reflects Cadillac Racing’s commitment to excellence and competitive spirit.

With this impressive victory under their belt, Bourdais and van der Zande, along with their teammate Scott Dixon, currently hold the second position in the GTP points standings. As they continue their pursuit of championship glory, Cadillac Racing remains a formidable contender in the world of motorsports.
