The all-new Cadillac prototype is also set to compete in the Rolex 24 At Daytona in late January in the Grand Touring Prototype class. Armed with an abundance of experience and talent, the Cadillac driver lineup is sure to aid the team as it competes circuits around the world next season. This includes races throughout Europe, Asia, the United States and the Middle East.

“I’m really happy to continue at Chip Ganassi Racing and Cadillac. I’ve loved my first season in DPi and now to continue over into the LMDh era and WEC is super exciting. Looking forward to fighting for world championship and another Le Mans victory.” – Earl Bamber on being a Cadillac Racing driver. Bamber joins the 2023 team with two overall wins from five starts at Le Mans and was the 2019 IMSA GTLM champion.

“Cadillac has so much heritage as a luxury North American sports car brand, so to be able to represent them is a huge privilege. I’ve had a lot of fun in my first year doing it and to continue that onto the World Endurance Championship stage is fantastic.” – Alex Lynn on being a Cadillac Racing driver. Lynn, who has driven in the WEC since 2016, won the LMGTE Pro class at Le Mans in 2020 and also took LMGTE Pro class victories at Spa in 2017 and 2018.

“It’s a really exciting time to be a sports car drivers when you have all of the top manufacturers throwing everything at it. I personally enjoy helping develop cars and I’m excited for the beginning of Cadillac’s V-LMDh program.” – Richard Westbrook on being a Cadillac Racing driver. Westbrook joins the team with eleven IMSA race wins and a class victory in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2018. During the 2022 year, Westbrook scored an overall podium finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, co-drove to a runner-up finish at Sebring and earned third place finishes at the 24 Hours of Daytona and Long Beach.

120 Cadillac

This August marked an official 120 years of Cadillac engineering, design, and innovation. Since its founding by Henry M. Leland in 1902, Cadillac has paved the way when it comes to luxury vehicles, including many technologies and features that drivers today may take for granted. This starts from the very beginning with the pioneering use of standardized, interchangeable component parts earned its first Dewar Trophy and gave rise to the timeless “Standard of the World” moniker.

From the first V-8 engine to the first V-16-powered production passenger car, Cadillac has always been at the forefront of advancement in any era of luxury vehicles. This also includes the first electric self-starter, the HydraMatic fully automatic transmission, and features such as Night Vision to SuperCruise driver assistance technology. Today, this also includes the introduction of Cadillac’s first-ever all-electric vehicle, which brings a new era of progressive advanced technology powered by the Ultium platform.

Of course, Cadillac’s innovation also lies with its impeccable design. One could argue that modern car design began at Cadillac when it introduced the 1927 LaSalle, the first car designed by a stylist – the legendary Harley Earl. From then on, Cadillac design only became stronger. This includes the era-defining 1959 Eldorado to contemporary classics like the CTS-V Coupe, which have captured drivers for decades. Today, you can see this tradition in the new CELESTIQ show car, which represents the future of Cadillac design and innovation and celebrates the brand’s storied past.

Cadillac Benefit

The first retail production of the all-new 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V was sold last month at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction! The Escalade-V raised over $500,000 for the Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design, Michigan’s only historically Black college and university and the nation’s first HBCU to reopen. This marks the third Cadillac V-series to auction at Barrett-Jackson in just the last year – helping to pave the way for the next generation of creatives right in Cadillac’s hometown.

The Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design offers programs in design, sustainability, business, STEM and more. They provide intensive curriculums that provide real-life experience for students in order to grow their knowledge and skills from day one. PLC’s financial approach lowers the barrier to entry for all students interested in receiving an education, as corporate collaborators, like Cadillac, fund masterclasses, tuition and housing for students.

“In a city well known for both design and automotive manufacturing, we are proud to have Cadillac as a supporter in this incredibly important effort that will literally change the face of the entire design industry.” -Dr. D’Wayne Edwards, founder of PLC.

Cocktail

Cool down with a delicious homemade cocktail!

It’s nearly summer time! And what better way to celebrate than with an ice-cold beverage? These cocktail recipes, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are great for all types of summer occasions — from an outdoor soiree to just hanging out with a few friends. They’re easy to make to and don’t require having a lot of ingredients on hand, so you can whip them up anytime, anywhere.

Try one of these fun summer cocktail ideas to cool you off all season long:

Cucumber Sangria
One sip of this drink and you (and your friends) will be begging for seconds. A creamy and fruity blend of all your favorites, cucumber sangria is sure to be a hit with everyone you know. First, cut a small honeydew in half and remove the rind and seeds. Cut the melon, a seedless cucumber and one lime, into thin slices. Throw that all into a pitcher. Next, squeeze about 1/4 cup of lime juice and a 1/4 cup of honey into a small bowl. Add with the juice, along with 12 mint leaves, to the melon mixture. Lastly, add a whole bottle of Sauvignon blanc or other semi-dry white wine. Cover and chill it in the refrigerator for about two hours. When it’s ready, pour one liter of carbonated water on top and you’re all set! If serving at a party, a garnish of fresh mint should please those detail-oriented folks.

Peach Daiquiri
Impress your friends who have a sweet tooth with this peachy drink. Slice and peel three cups of fresh peaches (or frozen peaches work just fine), and combine it with 12-ounce can of frozen limeade or lemonade concentrate, 1/4 cup of orange juice and two tablespoons of powdered sugar in a blender. Cover and blend until the mixture is smooth. As the blender is blending, gather two cups of ice cubes and gradually add them to the mixture. A sweet drink for a sweet occasion!

Gin Slush
Combine nine cups of water and two cups of granulated sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil for about 15 minutes. Next, remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool a bit. Then, slowly pour in one can of frozen orange juice concentrate and one can of frozen lemonade concentrate. Lastly, add two cups of your favorite gin and mix. Transfer the drink into a container and store in the fridge overnight. By the morning, you’ll have slushy goodness that you can scoop into a glass and top with lemon-lime soda, if you desire.

Blackberry and Bourbon Lemonade
If this doesn’t scream summer, nothing will. And with just four ingredients, making this refreshing cocktail couldn’t be easier. Measure out 1/4 cup of your favorite bourbon, 1 1/2 tablespoons of lemon juice and two teaspoons of blackberry-rosemary syrup in a cocktail shaker, combined with some ice. Shake for about 30 seconds or until the mixture is chilled. Then just strain the drink into a glass, add some ice, and pour about 1/3 of a cup of sparkling lemonade on top. If you’d like, garnish with a blackberry or two that you can enjoy after the drink.

Minty Iced Tea
There’s nothing wrong with plain iced tea, but this unique take on the classic is to die for. Start by combining seven cups of water and two cups of sugar in a large saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring. Then reduce the heat and simmer for about five minutes. Remove from the stove, and place eight orange-flavored tea bags and eight mint sprigs on the mixture. Let it sit for about five-10 minutes, then discard the bags and sprigs. Next, transfer the liquid into a heatproof bowl. Pour in another eight cups of water, two cups of orange juice and 3/4 lemon juice. Cover the tea and chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of four hours before serving. This drink is a sure-fire way to cool down on those particularly hot summer days!

There’s nothing like a refreshing drink on a hot summer day, and these recipes will have you relaxing in no time.

There are many different chemical cleaners on the market, but there are a few simple options that may be available right in your kitchen to try first.

Summer is perfect for road trips to the beach, mountains, or just the park. Unfortunately, those trips mean more mess for your car’s upholstery. From food crumbs to spilled drinks and sand, summer is rough on your car, and it’s important to keep it clean. There are many different chemical cleaners on the market, but there are a few simple options that may be available right in your kitchen to try first. Baking soda, for instance, can absorb odors and clean at the same time. All you need is a toothbrush and a little elbow grease.

Club soda is another inexpensive way to clean up a spill, especially ink, and fruit juices and sports drinks that include some kind of dye. As soon as possible, use paper or cloth towels to sop up the liquid, and then apply the club soda to dissolve the stain with effervescence. The sooner you get to the stain, the less likely it is to leave a permanent mark that becomes an eyesore that decreases the value of your car.

Summer is sunscreen city (don’t forget your SPF!) but you and your kids may leave a greasy residue on your seats if you apply before you go or as you’re leaving the beach. If a dollop of sunscreen falls on the upholstery, don’t reach for that cloth yet! Rubbing the seat will only push it deeper into the layers of fabric. Quickly grab a flat piece of card stock, a business card, or a spoon to lift the sunscreen away from the seat. Even that valet ticket from three days ago will lift the lotion away.

Next, you can get to work. First, always clean a test area first; all upholstery is not equal. If one doesn’t work for you, check with a service professional for a commercial cleaner recommendation that works best for your vehicle.

Try mixing a solution of one teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with one cup of warm water. If you have hard and not soft water in your home, use bottled distilled water to clean. Start with a white cloth, toothbrush (not yours, of course), or soft-bristled brush in the soapy liquid and blot with a dry light or white cloth. Repeat as necessary. And don’t forget to rinse with a clean cloth and water, because the soap residue will attract more dirt. Let it dry in the shade, and then hit it with a vacuum to pull out any remaining flakes and stain.

With a little love and care, your vehicle will make it through the summer looking and smelling as clean and fresh as the spring.
