We know how daunting the idea of switching into an electric vehicle can be – whether your concerns deal with charging, pricing, or the benefits within the vehicle itself, Heritage Cadillac is here to answer every question. Now entering its third model year, the Cadillac LYRIQ has been refined to address early model quirks and customer concerns, making it a critical component of the brand’s electrified future.
The modular nature of EVs sets them apart from their gasoline-powered counterparts. Where traditional SUVs require different designs for chassis, engines, and suspensions across various sizes—compact, midsize, and large—electric vehicles streamline this process. Automakers can create a single platform and scale it across models. For Cadillac, this means leveraging General Motors’ innovative Ultium platform, which is set to underpin more than a dozen new models.
The LYRIQ was the first to hit the market, and with feedback from early adopters of the 2023 model, the 2024 model year aims to be the most polished version yet. After spending a week behind the wheel of the 2024 Lyriq Sport 3 AWD, priced at $70,070 (including a $1,395 delivery fee), Sean Tucker has given his feedback on how driving a LYRIQ benefited his every day.
While it may not blow away its competition in every aspect, the LYRIQ is stylish, fun to drive, and practical. It’s a solid contender in the luxury EV space and a promising glimpse into Cadillac’s electric future. The LYRIQ’s angular, chiseled exterior, especially in black, is striking, with its illuminated faux grille adding a touch of sophistication.
Inside, the cabin continues the sleek aesthetic, enhanced by a panoramic glass roof and a flat EV floor, giving it an airy feel. The 33-inch display, stretching from the driver’s panel to the center, is intuitive with large, easy-to-use icons, making it practical for driving. The 19-speaker AKG audio system also impresses with its clear sound quality.
With 500 horsepower in the AWD model, the LYRIQ delivers muscle car-like power and smooth handling. Cadillac’s estimated 307-mile range held up well in real-world conditions. Most of your charging will be done at home thanks to our partnership with Qmerit. The installation is quick and easy, and once it’s complete, you’ll never have to worry about waiting for others to charge in public. If you find yourself in a location that prevents you from installing your own charger, Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers make for convenient charging options throughout the country.
As the first vehicle on GM’s Ultium platform, the LYRIQ sets the stage for Cadillac’s electric future, blending style, performance, and innovation into a compelling package.

“SOLLEI reimagines the discovery of travel, offering a personalized driving experience that connects drivers with the natural world,” said Erin Crossley, design director at Cadillac. “The concept celebrates Cadillac’s legacy of elegant convertibles in a modern form, embodying luxury through design and experience.”
Innovative Materials and Design

Fine Mycelium™, made from the renewable root structure of mushrooms, is used in the vehicle’s charging mats and door map pockets. This innovative material reflects Cadillac’s commitment to pioneering sustainable resources in the automotive industry.
Exterior Elegance
The SOLLEI’s exterior is a masterpiece of emotion and bold design, characterized by Cadillac’s signature proportions. Its low, elongated body and wide stance are accentuated by a long coupe door, providing easy access to the spacious rear seats. The vehicle’s clean lines are uninterrupted by conventional door handles, replaced instead by discreet buttons, and the mid-body line seamlessly connects the headlamps to the taillights.
The exterior is finished in “Manila Cream,” a color originally used on Cadillacs in 1957 and 1958. This revived and hand-painted finish pays homage to Cadillac’s rich heritage of bold, timeless colors.
Interior Luxury
Inside, SOLLEI embodies Cadillac’s “art of travel” philosophy, elevating the driving experience with luxurious features such as a fully integrated beverage chiller with a power glass door and crystal glasses. The interior is a showcase of craftsmanship, with illuminated décor, hand-cut wood veneers, and marquetry techniques that create a stunning focal point stretching from the front doors to the rear compartment.
The interior also features sophisticated ambient lighting, with 126 color options across multiple zones, allowing for complete personalization. Cadillac has even catered to bird-watching enthusiasts with a custom interior accessory set, including 3D-printed acrylic bird calls, a leather-bound journal with hand-painted illustrations, and a leather tool roll for pens and pencils.
Celestial and Sun-Themed Design
SOLLEI’s design is deeply inspired by the sun and the celestial environment, with sunburst-themed lighting, seat pattern embroidery, and a pink iridescent pigment in the Fine Nappa leather that creates a color-changing sunrise effect. The concept also includes unique materials like MycoWorks’ Fine Mycelium™ in an iridescent finish, a pink hue on the beverage chiller door, and “Daybreak” metallic fabric for the convertible roof.
With SOLLEI, Cadillac continues to push the boundaries of luxury, offering a glimpse into a future where bespoke design meets cutting-edge innovation in the world of electric vehicles.
