Cadillac’s all-electric compact crossover is entering its second model year, arriving with more style, more performance, and more practical capability than ever. With refreshed design options, upgraded powertrains, and even the debut of a thrilling new V-Series variant, the 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ continues to redefine what a luxury EV can be.
But beyond the headlines, the 2026 OPTIQ also delivers something especially useful for active lifestyles: impressive light-duty towing capability. Every non–V-Series 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ (Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, and Premium Sport) offers a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 lbs. Whether equipped with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, this rating makes OPTIQ ideal for:
- Small utility trailers
- Bike racks and carriers
- Compact adventure gear
This capability adds everyday versatility without compromising the EV’s refined driving experience.
Note: The performance-focused OPTIQ-V is not rated for towing. Drivers planning to tow should select one of the non–V-Series trims.
Under the hood, well, beneath the floor, the 2026 OPTIQ features an 85 kWh battery pack and Cadillac’s latest electric drive innovations. Dual-motor AWD models now deliver up to 440 hp and 498 lb-ft of torque—a jump of 140 hp and 144 lb-ft over the 2025 model. RWD configurations provide 315 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, with an estimated 300-mile range per charge.
And when it’s time to get back on the road, OPTIQ’s fast-charging capability shines, recovering up to 79 miles of range in just 10 minutes with DC fast charging.
As with any vehicle, owners planning to tow should follow the recommended break-in period and review how towing may affect driver-assist systems. Cadillac encourages all owners to consult their vehicle’s owner’s manual for full towing guidelines and safety information.
