General Motors (GM) has achieved a remarkable milestone by earning the highest number of model-level awards in the industry in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS). Six GM models have been recognized across various categories, with more than half of GM’s lineup performing among the Top 3 within their respective segments.
Now in its 38th year, the J.D. Power IQS is based on feedback from nearly 100,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2024 model-year vehicles, surveyed after three months of ownership. This year’s study also integrates repair visit data with J.D. Power Voice of the Consumer data, collected from July 2023 through May 2024.
“Quality is a priority for GM, and earning the most awards in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. IQS Study of any automaker reflects that commitment,” said Antonio Francavilla, vice president of Global Quality, Supplier Quality, and Operational Excellence at GM. “As we accelerate into our all-electric future, we consistently work to improve quality from the development of our products, across the company, and at every step of the customer journey. We are listening to customer input, pairing it with other data, and using it to make updates to our products more quickly than ever before.”
This recognition underscores GM’s dedication to delivering high-quality vehicles and enhancing the overall customer experience. As the automotive industry evolves towards an all-electric future, GM remains committed to maintaining and improving the quality and reliability of its products.
